Who are we?

Kathy and Bryan have collaborated extensively on "The Amica Jazz Duo," showcasing piano and bass with vocals in both acoustic and electric formats. They are also members of the "Mood Music Orchestra" and have supported artists like Rachel Beck, Sarah Blasko, and Eric Idle, as well as collaborating with the Mood Music Swing Band, The Bazkatz, and the Queensland Pops Orchestra.

**Kathy Sander - Piano**

Kathy grew up in Toowoomba, establishing her musical foundation by studying piano with Brachi Tilles, Stephen McIntyre, and Roy Shepherd at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne. Now a freelance pianist and keyboardist, she enhances the musical landscape at the Queensland Conservatorium and University Music Department while teaching at Brisbane Girls' Grammar School and Brisbane Grammar School.

Her notable achievements include playing on the Vatican Organ and supporting master classes with violinists like Maxim Vengerov and Yehudi Menuhin. Kathy has collaborated with artists such as Frank Sinatra and Liberace and has extensive experience in Latin and jazz bands, as well as in theatre productions like "Dusty," "Miss Saigon," and "Mamma Mia."

As a former resident pianist for the Queensland Pops Orchestra and a collaborator with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, she continues to make her mark. Additionally, as the musical director for “Mood Music Musicians,” Kathy plays a vital role in the Brisbane music community..

**Bryan Pearson - Bass**

Bryan's musical journey began in the United Kingdom, where he received his education and gained experience performing with the Tommy Watt Orchestra, including recordings for the BBC. He later worked aboard luxury cruise lines, including the P&O Passenger Liners and Hubert Warren Orchestras, before relocating to Australia.

In Australia, Bryan thrived in the local music scene, collaborating with various bands and orchestras while teaching music at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. His overseas performances include work on the MV Mercury, MV Diamond Princess, and Star Princess, as well as with the resident orchestra on the RMS Queen Mary 2 during its inaugural year.

He performed with the Queensland Pops Orchestra and the Northern Rivers Symphony Orchestra. Proficient in both acoustic and electric bass, he excels across musical styles and is also a skilled keyboard player. Additionally, he serves as the associate director of “Mood Music Musicians.”
